Over the years, Lyle has fine tuned his training style, which can be described as both caring, patient and understanding while being challenging, demanding and effective at delivering great results. His reputation continues to attract clients that are not afraid of hard work or pushing themselves in order to achieve their goals. Lyle prides himself in being intuitive and creating unpredictable workouts tailored to his client's needs.

On a personal note, Lyle’s journey with bilateral Meniere’s disease [an inner ear dysfunction that affects his balance and mobility] has given him greater perspective and increased adaptability for helping his clients overcome obstacles. He has also become a great role model for not letting life’s challenges keep you down. His communication skills have also improved tremendously along with his ability to identify and created unique training techniques to over-come physical challenges. To help Lyle function, our gym has been customized providing an environment with quiet music, soothing colours, and even indirect lighting. The cool thing is that this atmosphere is also beneficial for our clients in delivering a unique fitness experience!

Kendel Ross

Kendel’s first passion in life was athletics; participating in every sport available growing up she settled on basketball and allowed it to take her to the University of Dayton in Ohio on a NCAA D1 Scholarship. There she received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science. While finishing internships with various wellness programs she discovered a second love of helping individuals achieve their health and fitness goals. Upon completing her undergrad she sat and wrote to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA); a certification that requires her to have a degree and continue her education in the field in order to keep it.

Placing wellness on hold, she focused on her training for the Canadian National Team. She did this playing overseas (Portugal and Spain) as well as training during her master’s program in Dayton and at home with Lyle.

Kendel received her master’s degree in exercise science with a biomechanics focus; completing her thesis in the motion analysis lab. While completing her master’s program Kendel ran the Faculty/Staff Wellness Program as a graduate assistant for the University of Dayton and was hired as the strength coach for the women’s basketball team. She competed for the Canadian Senior National Team in the World Qualifier in Mexico during this time as well.

Kendel began training with Lyle after her first year overseas. In the NCAA every team has a strength coach but when playing professionally often the responsibility of staying fit and strong gets transferred to the player. As a fitness professional she first started this journey creating her own programs. After being introduced to Lyle, Kendel quickly changed route to allowing Lyle help her become the most fit, strong and mobile player she could be. At the end of that first summer with Lyle, her national team head coach was quoted in the locker room describing Kendel as an example of International Fitness; what it takes to compete with the best in the world.

Upon finishing her masters she played one last year overseas in Spain where she was league MVP and her team won the division. In her transition into a more regular lifestyle; working at LD fitness was important to her because of the opportunity she saw to learn from Lyle’s years of knowledge and advanced understanding of biomechanics. Ready to fully shift her focus to health and wellness she is excited to use her own knowledge and experience to help others achieve their biggest goals.
